KCIL signed a Partnership Agreement with the KAS

Kurdistan Center for International Law (KCIL) signed a Partnership Agreement with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS). The Partnership Agreement signed in Erbil on November 8th 2021. The agreement has signed by both, Mr. Philipp Bremer the Head of the Rule of Law Program Middle East and North Africa of the KAS and Mr. Hawre Ahmed the Executive Director of the KCIL.

The Partnership Agreement is to conduct the project of "study obstacles, limitations and challenges facing the strengthening of the judicial system in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI)". The aim of the study is to get a better understanding of the current judicial system, hence, evaluating the obstacles and shortcomings of the system. Therefore, the study provides technical and legal solutions to overcome the weaknesses, to empower the existing potentials of the judicial system and courts in KRI. Then, the findings of the study will be published by the end of the project.

In conclusion, this Agreement is a part of the KAS and KCIL efforts to strengthen the rule of law in KRI.
