As part of the continuation endeavors of the project “Justice Resilience Initiative in the KRI,” supported by the German Federal Foreign Office’s fund by IFA (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen), Funding Programme Zivikthe. The KCIL held a two-day workshop for 10 judges (4 prosecutors & 6 Judges). At the commencing of the first day, the judges were introduced to a series theme by Dr. Annie Pius and Dr. Shiraz Ibrahim on the International Criminal Court (ICC), including the trial phases and review process at the ICC and specilaized tribunals. So far, the participants engaged actively, giving the trainers opportunities to deepen their discussions and provide new information to the participants through their comments and discussions on the court and the cases in the KRI courts that relate to international crimes.

The second day of the workshop focused on discussing the anti-discrimination bill which led by Dr. Assos Brakhas. Remarkably, Participants' comments on the bill were important, as they directly linked them to how the bill would be implemented in the courts in the future. The last topic of the workshop was dedicated to the presentation of the Fair Trial manual by Judge Dr. Taha Omar. In this context, each of the participating judges and prosecutors emphasized the key principles of ensuring a fair trial. The two-day workshop ended with reflections on the judicial experience and further consideration of the principles of fair judiciary in the KRI courts.
