The KCIL and the Deanship of the College of Law at Salaheddin University signed a Mou

As part of KCIL’s efforts to strengthen its relations with the universities of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), creating an avenue for equipping law students throughout KRI universities with a foundation focused on promoting the role of law and justice in KRI courts, on July 2, 2024, in Erbil province, the KCIL signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Deanship of the College of Law at Salaheddin University.In the presence of Dr. Bakhtiar Sabir Bayaz (Dean of the College of Law), Dr. Hevi Hassan (University Professor), and Dr. Ali Taha Akram (Head of the Law Department), the MOU aimed to provide a favorable scientific opportunity between the two sides to organize joint projects, offer more opportunities for law students in the framework of organizing workshops and seminars, summer schools, and research projects. This initiative aims to familiarize students with international criminal law and new interpretations within the field of international humanitarian law, and to enshrine fair trial models according to contemporary human rights standards through the KRI courts. It is worth mentioning that the Dean of the College of Law (Dr. Bakhtiar Sabir) and his accompanying team praised such initiatives. So far, They reiterated their readiness to make the provisions of the memorandum a success and to enhance the higher education process in service of upholding the role of law in the KRI.
