The personal status law is one of the important laws that have a direct impact on human life. It is the law that is concerned with family affairs. However, there are several conventions and international conferences dealing with issues which are no longer an individual issue that is dealt with within the scope of domestic legislation. Rather, it has become a global issue. It is no longer acceptable to have conflicting legislation with international agreements, especially if this country has ratified or acceded to these agreements.
