On 16 May, 2025, Dr. Gurgen Petrossian presented a 15 minutes speech at a public seminar titled 'Research Group on the Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict and Its Legal Consequences.' The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is an ethnic and territorial dispute between Armenia and Azerbaijan concerning the region of Nagorno-Karabakh, which was predominantly inhabited by ethnic Armenians until 2023. In his speech, Petrossian Highlighted extensively on the historical context of the events in Nagorno-Karabakh, the ongoing legal proceedings before the European Court of Human Rights, the International Court of Justice, and universal jurisdiction. The discussion included not only international law and human rights but also emphasized the importance of considering property rights and other rights that have been violated. This public seminar, titled 'Prosecution of International Crimes,' was organized by the KCIL in collaboration with the Azadbun Organization and the Genocide Research Center at Halabja University.
