KCIL participates in a roundtable discussion in Kurdistan Parliament

Kurdistan Center for International Law (KCIL) invites by Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 14 June to participate a consultative meeting with UNITAD and Parliament to discuss the Bill on the Special Court for ISIS Crimes.

The participants included Dr. Bizhar Kochar (KDP), the chair of Parliament’s Legislative Committee; Dr. Vala Fareed, KRG Minister for the Region for Parliament Affairs; Dr. Dindar Zebari, KRG International Advocacy Coordinator; Christopher Gosnell, Senior Advisor to UNITAD; university academics and legal experts, and Parliament’s legislative advisers.

Hawre Ahmed director of KCIL and Awara Hussein as university academic in Halabja University and a Research Fellow at KCIL expressed their views about the Draft law.

Speaker Faiq appreciated their comments and hoped that in the next stages the academics will continue to co-ordinate with Parliament and the Legislative Committee in working on the draft.
